Aug 30 (Sunday) – ISTANBUL: Arrival in Istanbul. Reception at the airport. Transfer to Barceló Istanbul Hotel (5*). Overnight stay.

 

Aug 31 (Monday) – ISTANBUL: Breakfast. Full-day excursion including the most significant monuments of Istanbul: the Hippodrome Square, built during the Roman period. Visit to the Blue Mosque, the most famous work of Ottoman architecture, renowned for its interior decoration with Iznik tiles. Visit to Hagia Sophia, which served as a church for 916 years and as a mosque since the conquest of Constantinople in 1453. In the afternoon, visit to Topkapi Palace, former residence of the Ottoman Sultans. The last stop will be the Grand Bazaar. Transfer back to the hotel.

 

Sep 01 (Tuesday) – ISTANBUL: Breakfast. Full-day visit starting with the Spice Market. Private boat cruise along the Bosphorus (the strait separating the two continents, Asia and Europe), where you will admire beautiful Ottoman villas, the Dolmabahçe, Çiragan and Beylerbeyi Palaces, the Rumeli Hisari Fortress, etc. Visit to Beylerbeyi Palace. Ascend to Çamlıca Hill, offering a beautiful panoramic view of the Bosphorus and Istanbul. Transfer to the hotel.

 

Sep 02 (Wednesday) – ISTANBUL–KAYSERI–CAPPADOCIA: Breakfast. Transfer to the airport. Flight to Kayseri. Arrival and transfer to Cappadocia. Overnight stay and dinner at Temenni Hotel (cave-style) or similar. (B, D)

Sep 03 (Thursday) – CAPPADOCIA: Breakfast and visit to the spectacular region of Cappadocia, unique for its fascinating and original landscape formed by lava from the Erciyes and Hasan volcanoes about 3 million years ago. Visit to the numerous monasteries and chapels of Göreme, carved into the rocks and decorated with 10th-century frescoes (some very well preserved). Pass by the Uçhisar Fortress and Avcılar Valley. In the afternoon, visit the village of Avanos, famous for its handicrafts, and the Güvercinlik (Pigeon) Valley. Visit to the underground city of Ozkonak or Serhatli, one of the 36 underground cities of Cappadocia that served as a refuge for Christians. Visit to a carpet and jewelry handicraft center. Return to the hotel and dinner. (B, D)

 

Sep 04 (Friday) – CAPPADOCIA–KONYA: Early departure to Konya, capital of the Seljuk sultans in the 11th century. Visit to the Sultanhan Caravanserai, where camel caravans once stopped along the Silk Road. Visit to Çatalhöyük, the zero point of many milestones in human history, including agriculture and animal domestication. Lunch. In the afternoon, visit to the Church of St. Paul (mass possible). St. Paul and St. Barnabas stayed in the city of Iconium, where they met Saint Thecla. Dinner and overnight stay at Diomand Hotel (5*). (B, L, D)

 

Sep 05 (Saturday) – KONYA / PAMUKKALE: Breakfast and departure to Pamukkale. En route, pass through BeyÅŸehir, where we will see one of the most interesting mosques in Asia Minor: Esrefoglu Mosque. A short detour will allow us to see a Hittite temple dedicated to the gods of water, located at a spring that has supplied water for 4,000 years. Lunch. Arrival and visit to Pamukkale, a spectacular place unique in the world for its dazzling white cascades and natural pools. Visit to the ancient city of Hierapolis and the Necropolis, which contains more than 150,000 tombs. Overnight stay and dinner at Richmond Hotel (5*) in Pamukkale. (B, L, D)

Sep 06 (Sunday) – PAMUKKALE–EPHESUS–CRUISE: In the morning, departure to Ephesus, a Greco-Roman city, former capital of Asia Minor and one of the best-preserved cities of antiquity, where you will find the Temple of Hadrian, Temple of Trajan, the theater, the Library of Celsus, etc. Visit to the House of the Virgin Mary, where she spent the last years of her life. Visit to a leather handicraft center. Transfer to the Port of Kusadasi. Embarkation. Cruise departure at 6:00 pm. (B, L, D)

Arrival at the port of Agios Nikolaos at 08:00 hrs.
Free time or optional excursion to the Palace of Knossos, center of the Minoan civilization.
Cruise departure at 20:00 hrs.

 

Sep 09 (Wednesday) – SANTORINI (GREECE)
Arrival in Santorini around 08:00 hrs.
Disembarkation by tender boats and free day to enjoy the island.
Optional excursion to Oia, famous for one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world.
Cruise departure at 22:00 hrs.

 

Sep 10 (Thursday) – MYKONOS (GREECE)
Arrival in Mykonos at 08:00 hrs.
Free day to enjoy its beaches, international shops, and vibrant nightlife.
Departure of the ship at 02:00 hrs early Friday morning.

Sep 11 (Friday) – MYKONOS / MILOS (GREECE)
Continuation of the stay in Mykonos until early morning.
Arrival at the port of Milos at 08:00 hrs.
Free time to enjoy the island, known for its beaches and for being the place where the Venus de Milo was discovered.
Cruise departure at 18:00 hrs.

Sep 12 (Saturday) – ATHENS (PIRAEUS) – HD CITY TOUR – ATHENS
Arrival at the port of Piraeus (Athens) around 08:00 hrs.
Disembarkation and panoramic tour of the Neoclassical center of Athens: Parliament, University, Library and National Academy, Ilion Palace, Temple of Zeus, Hadrian’s Gate, Panathenaic Stadium, and other iconic monuments.
After the panoramic tour, visit to the impressive Acropolis.
Free afternoon in the city. Overnight stay.

Sep 13 (Sunday) – ATHENS – FULL DAY ARGOLIS
Passing through the picturesque coastal roads of the Saronic Gulf, we arrive in Corinth (stop).
Then departure to Mycenae, visiting its ruins including the Lion Gate, the Tomb of Agamemnon, and the Palace.
Departure through the province of Argolis.
After lunch, visit to Epidaurus and its famous theater, renowned for its exceptional acoustics.
Return to Athens at sunset. (L)
