trip for us - we all had an
incredible time. Too bad I
wasn't able to meet you, but
thanks so much for getting
us a great room in the
middle of the resort. In
addition, the Hotel provided
us some Champagne and
fruits...gracias :)
On a side note, about the
hotel, I wasn't too
impressed with the food.
The service of the people
was great, but food was
sub-par considering it was a
Riu Palace. The water was
gorgeous, but very rocky by
our resort - this wasn't a
big deal though.
Nonetheless, we had an
incredible experience and
were able to see Chichen
Itza, do the Jungle Tour and
go to Xplor.
Also, thank you for getting
me some cruise information.
My budget, ideally, is
around $1200-$1500 all in.
I'm flexible on dates: I
can leave for the cruise as
early as Thursday, July 28th
and can return as late as
Wednesday, August 3...either
way, I can do a 4 day
cruise: Thursday - Monday;
Friday - Tuesday; Saturday -
Wednesday. Probably best to
leave from Toronto, but we
can do a Buffalo departure
if it's a huge saving.

stroke thoughts…I gather you
know quite a bit more about
hotels restaurants and sight
seeing things than I do….
Mexico is a place of history and
struggle. The daily lives of the
common man are one of family,
work, and faith. The “oneness”
of the people of Mexico I find
to be both heartfelt and
profound. No boisterous
outpouring of showy love of
country like my fellow Americans
nor the purposefully subdued,
almost hidden, pride felt by the
Canadians. No this love of
country by the folks who live in
Mexico is entwined through their
daily routines by their living
life with whatever they have.
It’s not an economic identity
but rather a real identity of
“being”. A true person defined
by place, of church, of sport,
and of family this is the Mexico
I have found. Seeing Mexico from
the eyes of a Gringo one senses
a day’s work that does not
require a watch, a lifestyle
that does not require a car, a
contentment that does not
require a bank account. No. Here
in Mexico one lives not to watch
with envy what others are doing
but rather with an unforced joy
of quiet contentment that one
merely has to “be” to
understand. It is not the goal
but the journey that I sense
Mexicans have learned to
appreciate.
The humbleness of the average
Mexicano is offset by the sheer
majesty of the terrain in which
he or she lives. Perhaps the
best way to describe Mexico is
to first understand that for
Mexicans their sense of place is
rooted in their immediate
surroundings. Living and dyeing
close to where one was born is
the typical experience for most
people of the world of course.
Yet for a citizen of Mexico even
the leaving of a place does not
remove the permanent imprint of
the landmarks of his home. The
tough terrain of almost anywhere
in Mexico from the dry
temperature extremes of the
mountains of the Sierra Madres
to the stark alto plano of
central Mexico to the crystal
clear coastal water of the
beaches the physical beauty of
Mexico surrounds it citizens
with a sense of place almost
unlike any other place on earth.
Its as if God wanted these hardy
people to be awed by his
creation everyday and have to
work hard to gain its bounty. He
gave the Volcano’s and slow
moving rivers and daunting
mountains the visual essence
behind his constant presence.
Having lived through a land that
is stingy with its love but
constant in its attention allows
the Mexican that I know to hold
high his head in whatever land
he travels to because he
honestly knows and appreciates
from where he comes.
Mexico truly is blessed by its
people and the land they live in
(not just live on).

El el mes de
agosto conversando con Lorena
sobre vacaciones, nos aconsejo
que visitaramos las playas de la
Maya Riviera en la Peninsula de
Yucatan, Mejico. Que se
encontraban cerca de las
maravillosas ruinas de Tulum, un
“paraiso Toltecas” en territorio
Maya. Nos preparo un package
donde todo estaba incluido.
Desde el vuelo hasta las
meriendas, cosa que parece
incredible, verdad? Llegamos al Hotel
Bahia Principe Coba, un hermoso
conjunto de tres hotels rodeados
de restaurants con deliciosa
comida donde los camareros y
sirvientes se desviven por
atendeer a los mas exhigentes
huespedes. La variedad de
frutas, carnes, pescados,
camarones, pastas, pizzas hechas
a su gusto,vegetales, paella,
enbutidos…. Y sin contar la
repostreria que era mi debilidad!!!
Y para finalizar las bebidas
todo lo que Ud desee tomar desde
cerveza Corona… hasta el mas
exotico trago que quiera ordenar.
Todo este complejo de hotels
esta situado al lado de la
llamada Maya Riviera, playas de
un color azulaqua cristalino.
Tuvimos a
oportunidad de reservar
excursions a varios sitios
Arqueologicos como Chichen Itza,
Tulum, un maravilloso parque
acuatico Xtcza. Lamentando que
el tiempo no nos alcanzo para
visitar la isla de Cuzumel y la
Isla Mujeres que visitaremos en
nuestro proximo viaje.
Las noches
estaban reservadas para shows,
espectaculos y conjuntos
musicales en todas las areas.
Disfrutamos de unas maravillosas
vacaciones que volveremos a
repertir en un futuro no muy
lejano y se las recomendamos a
todos los que busquen escapar
del esters y la rutina diaria….

Hi, I would just
like to take this opportunity in
thanking you for your efforts in
organizing our trip to Cancun
Mexico in April. Although we
were looking forward to out stay
at the hotel that we were booked
in at we were pleasantly
surprise with the upgrade we
received at the Royal. We had a
very memorable stay and we would
recommend this hotel to anyone
that is looking for some
excellent service and pampering.
On our return it was sad to here
that Mexico was hit with the
swine flu but there did not seem
to be any problem with the
people that was staying at the
hotel and we still see the
couple that we met on holiday
and they were fine as well. So
once again thanks for a
fantastic trip.

Acabo de regresar de
un viaje a nuestro
querido Mexico en
las fechas navidenas
y senti la necesidad
de escribir lo
siguiente.
Primero que nada el
servicio de la
agencia de viajes
por donde reserve y
compre mi boleto,
fue de lo mejor, ya
que apezar de que
queria algo
economico y para las
fechas que
necesitaba, fue
exactamente lo que
consegui. Gracias al
servicio y
cordialidad de la
duena, Lorena.
He viajado a Mexico
a menudo por los
ultimos 20 anos, y
en los ultimos anos
se ha notado como
las aerolineas han
recortado en
servicio y calidad.
Esta vez no fue
diferente pues tome
mi vuelo de ida de
Toronto con destino
a Monterrey, parando
en Dallas, Tx., para
transbordar, por la
aerolinea American
Airlines. El primero
de los aviones de
Toronto a Dallas, se
notaba cuanto uso
este ha tenido, ya
que no estaba muy
limpio y los
asientos muy
incomodos, era un
avion con bastante
anos en servicio.
Ahi lo unico que nos
ofrecieron fue un
refresco, ni
siquiera unos
cacahuates para un
vuelo de 3.5 hours,
pero bueno yo no lo
esperaba pues ya
habia volado por
esta aerolinea
antes. El siguiente
vuelo de Dallas a
Monterrey, el avion
era aun mas pequeno,
mas incomodo y mas
sucio, seria porque
vuela a Mexico y no
les importa?…, pues
ahi tambien un
refresco nada mas.
Bueno, por viajes
anteriores que he
hecho no esperaba
mas de American
Airlines.
Pero lo diferente
fue el regresar,
habia decidido
volver via la Ciudad
de Mexico, asi que
vole de Monterrey a
Mexico y de Mexico a
Toronto, por
Mexicana de Aviacion.
Para mi sorpresa, el
primer vuelo, que
aunque fue de 1 hora
y 10 minutos, nos
ofrecieron un
refresco y
cacahuates. Llegando
al aeropuerto de la
Ciudad de Mexico,
tenia 2 horas de
espera ahi, pare en
el Duty Free a
comprar unos
Tequilas para traer
a Canada, la
seleccion era
bastante amplia
mejor que los que
podemos encontrar en
otras paradas como
Dallas o Houston.
Caminando hacia la
sala del siguiente
vuelo, fui parando
por las diferentes
negocios donde
vendian muchos de
nuestros dulces
tradicionales y
algunas artesanias
tambien.
Para el siguiente
vuelo de la Ciudad
de Mexico a Toronto,
el avion estaba
mucho mas limpio y
los asientos mas
comodos que los de
American Airlines.
Para mi sorpresa,
sirvieron comida
completa a cada uno
de los pasajeros,
asi como tambien
podias pedir bebidas
alcoholicas sin
tener que pagar,
café y agua. Las
azafatas
continuamente
pasaban por los
pasillos preguntando
a los pasajeros si
querian algo mas de
tomar, de lo mas
cordial.
Comparando American
Airlines y Mexicana
de Aviacion, mil
veces mejor la
Segunda, sin dudar,
no solo por ser una
aerolinea nacional
de Mexico, pero por
sus aviones en
mejores condiciones
y el servicio que
dan supera sin dudar
con la que estamos
comparando.
De ahora en adelante,
solo voy a volar por
MEXICANA de Aviacion
a Mexico, como esta
no hay otra.

Hi Lorena,
It was great. The hotel
was fantastic for
families. Big but not
too big. The Aqua Park
for children was the
best. My kids had the
best vacation. The food
was good. Big selection,
and a lot to choose
from. Always fresh, they
would make spaggetti
every night that was not
on the menu for my
toddler. Our rooms were
always clean and very
nice. The staff couldnt
do enough for us. Always
there to bring drinks,
always nice and making
our kids laugh. The kids
club was great also. The
staff was very nice to
the kids. My older boy
went in and had a great
time. Doing the Sandos
Select club was great
and I would recommend
that. We had our own
pool that was never
crowded, cabanna's on
the beach with waiter
service, our own beach
club bar that always had
snacks.
We had a wonderful week
and would go back for
sure!!!! Recommend it.
It was great for
families.

Mexicana bien sin
ningun problema, el
hotel hermoso y
todos los servicios
de primera nos
encanto (mejor que
el Barcelo) el unico
pero fue AIR CANADA
al regreso nos toco
un tipo terrible que
jodio y jodio con
las maletas porque
solo son 23 Kilos "exactos"
en cada una o pagar
$110 US dolares por
maleta por 4 kilos
extra, tuvimos que
comprar 2
maletines de mano
para poner el exceso
de peso arriba (que
sumaba en total 11
kilos extra por los
4) y 2 maletines
porque el tipo nos
peso que no fuera
mas de 10 kilos en
equipaje de mano,
ahi nos tienes
sacando todo lo que
con cuidado habiamos
acomodado enfrente
de todos para
compraserlo, por
tipos como este no
dan ganas de volver
usar la linea aerea
nunca mas, da la
impresion que su
prioridad es cuidar
el peso de las
maletas y que los
pasajeros le valen.
Si quitamos este
incidente la pasamos
muy bien y nos
divertimos mucho
